About Abby Fender

Hi! I am Abby Fender and I started this blog to let you all in on some of the best hidden secrets and newest sources from all over the country. I have a passion for things; old, expensive, new, well, you get my point, and while some may view me as materialistic, I say if it worked for Madonna, it can’t be such a bad thing being a “Material Girl!” Plus, I just love a deal- I mean, who doesn’t? So, part of the whole inspiration for the blog is to share the amazing “Haute” spots that I have found over the years, as well as new products and info I keep adding to my list. Ultimately, I would love for everyone to enjoy the wonderful luxuries of life, without thinking they have to pay the ultimate price- because in my world, that’s just not true!

Domino Magazine’s Influence:

Domino Magazine was and is still one of my favorite magazines to this day. I would wait for the magazine to come in the mail each month and when it did, I would allow a good two or three hours to comb through it making notes of products, cutting out articles, visiting websites, andreading their online blog. I just knew I was going to work for that magazine one day. I did not know when or how, but it did not matter. When Domino had to close its doors, I started receiving lots of different magazines in its place. While none of the publications could ever take its place, it was still good therapy. I still read them with the same ridiculous dedication. I found that there was something I loved about each of them. I loved the blog recommendations, the fashion/style recommendations, the gift ideas. One year, I used one magazine as the soul source for all of my Christmas shopping online! I think it was the most enjoyable Christmas shopping I have ever done. I was able to really think about the individual person and tailor really special gifts just for them without worrying about crowds or anxiety attacks in the mall!

I now live in the shopping capitol of the world, Beverly Hills, CA. It is sunny everyday and I have a giant lemon tree right outside my door, which for the longest time, I actually thought was a lime tree because I moved-in during October and it was full of green fruit! I asked one of my neighbors when we should start picking the “limes,” because they looked really ripe! She said, “Abby, honey, those are lemons and you are going to have to wait until spring.” Well Spring came and those lemons were so ripe they were falling out of the tree. I just loved it- especially because they were FREE!!! Saving me about $7.00 a week! I tell you, this city is just full of deals you wouldn’t expect. I know it is a hard time for everyone financially, but “When life gives you lemons, make some dagumned lemonade!”

I aim to deliver the same amazing diverse content in this one blog as in the numerous magazines you would have to buy on the racks, and then take hours to read. I want you to visit the site and know that you will go away with great ideas, inspiration, solutions, and accurate and thought provoking information on a wide range of topics, because time is the most valuable commodity we have and we never seem to have enough of it these days. I hope you enjoy the blog and please feel free to contact me anytime! I would love to hear what you have to say and if you have any secret “Haute” spots of your own- DO SHARE! Feel free to email me at: info@abbyfender.com and I will respond to you ASAP!
